Happy Wednesday, half way through the week, and looking forward to a long weekend! For my American readers, it’s Thanksgiving this weekend in Canada, and almost time to get the turkey out of the freezer to start defrosting! This year I’m in love with the all the white pumpkins, as you might have noticed, and thought it would be fun to mix the white with some silver.

Where does one get silver pumpkins…it might involve a little spray paint. 😉

I found a regular old .99 cent pumpkin at the grocery store, and turned it and a few mini white ones into silver pumpkins.

I sprayed the bottoms first and let them dry.

Then I sprayed the tops, and while the silver was still wet I used a tooth brush to add some black speckles, with some black craft paint.

I few times I got a line rather than a speckle, so I just blotted it with a rag and started over. It was super easy, and I really like the effect, something similar to a mercury glass.

I set the new mercury glass-ish silver pumpkins on my entrance way table, and mixed in some real mercury glass, and some white pumpkins. Kind of love it.
