Every single kid (and adult) loved it, it was so cute and so much fun. The birthday girl’s mom, Heather, really out did herself.

Choosing A Puppy To Adopt

  • decorate a box for the puppy
  • fill out pet adoption papers
  • write the dog’s name on his collar

As guests arrived they were welcomed to the first centre, The Puppy Adoption Centre, where they choose a puppy to adopt. Each centre had one of these sweet signs with instructions.

At this centre the kids could decorate a box with the puppy’s name, fill out the adorable adoption papers, and pick out a collar and add the puppy’s new name.

Heather made the cute collars out of ribbon, velcro, and gift tags. The kids loved being able to write the puppy’s new name on them.

I love the puppy treats, with their paper doily details, which contained a little snack of chocolate cereal -for hungry puppies, or their little owners. 😉

Here are the leashes. The were stiff, so the kids could really “walk” their puppies. And, they had a little button on the end that made a barking sound -so cute!

  1. I was wondering where you got the puppies, the boxes, the leashes for the party. Adorable ideas.

  2. Hi Niki,
My friend Heather got the puppies and leashes through a wholesaler, sorry I don’t have more details. The boxes are from a local packaging store Creative Bag. Glad you liked all Heather’s great ideas.

  3. You did an awesome job with this theme. My daughter is asking for a dog theme party so this is a great help with ideas. I was wondering if you could tell me where you got the stiff dog leashes that have a barking sound. I’ve tried to find them online but haven’t had much luck so I was hoping maybe you could tell me where you got them and/or exactly what you call them. Thanks so much. Lesia

  4. Hi Lesla, So glad the puppy dog party is inspiring you. Unfortunately I didn’t plan this party, it was my friend, and I don’t know exactly where she ordered the stuffed dogs and leashes from. I do know it was as a wholesaler, so they may not be available to the general public anyway. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. I do know they considered using the IKEA stuffed dogs, and did use the dog clothing from there, but I’m not sure it’s still available this year either. Wishing the best of luck finding something that works for your party.

  5. Can you tell me (maybe ask your friend) what those leashes are called? I can’t find them online, but perhaps with the correct description I can? Thanks so much.

  6. Hi Jules, Sorry I wasn’t able to find out the exact name -this party was several years ago now. Best of luck.

  7. Hi Krista, I assume you mean did anyone find another source for the dogs. Not that I know of, and this party was quite a long time ago. Wishing you the best of luck though, sorry I can’t be more help.
