Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice!

new years, snowman, and felt food 094

Tomorrow is my God daughters birthday, and I wanted to make her a special gift this year. I decided to make her some of the cute felt play food that I’ve been making for my girls.

Her mommy is from Ireland, and has a great fondness for tea, so I thought I would include a few tea bags.

I cut out the shape from white felt, and embroidered TEA on it in pink. I used a small satin ribbon for the string and attached a heart to the end. I love how they turned out.

I ordered a pattern on-line to make the cupcakes. One is chocolate, one is vanilla. I decorated one with a rose and one with a strawberry. To make the strawberry a used a free pattern I found here. The icing and whip cream details are from the pattern I purchased. I thought it would be fun to nestle them in some real paper cupcake wrappers.

I also made some more of the heart sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies. Find out how I made them from my older posts here and here.

I also made a fun new cookie counting game. I made six chocolate chip cookies, with varying numbers of chocolate chips, from one to six. I really like that they can be used for pretend tea party play, and also as a counting, number identification, or number ordering game. It appeals to the teacher in me 😉

I found these fun little toaster oven trays to use as a small cookie sheet.

I also found a pretty play baking set at the toy store to include.

I hope Tara enjoys her new baking and tea party toys, and has the happiest of birthdays!

Instagram post 2192599784036855556_202589158 It’s Home Tour Day on the blog!!! 🙌🏻. I’m so excited to share my home with you all decorated for Christmas. I didn’t even know which picture to share with you first here, but decided to start with the staircase since a few of you have already mentioned it was a favourite. I absolutely love how it turned out. I used honeycomb balls from the dollar store and fresh pine boughs and it turned out so fun and festive. Head over to the blog for more and be sure to check out more of the #seasonalsimplicity Christmas home tours too.
