Nest Pin

Remember the little wire nest napkin rings I made for my Easter table here.

Easter 018

Well, they were just too cute to put into a drawer and wait for next spring to come out again, so I made one into a pin.

I started out with some tulle (left over from my wedding years ago, oh the happy memories), the nest and ribbon (see how I made them here), and some pins.

I cut out a long strip of tulle and folded it over to create two layers. Then I gathered it on one side to make a rosette shape, I think it’s a called a yo-yo.

I ran the satin ribbon through the pin and tied it, and sewed that to the yo-yo. Next, I sewed the pin closure onto the back.

Then, like all good bloggers, I walked around the garden for a nest pin photo shoot!

Here it is in the rocks.

Let just hope it looks this good on a sweater!

And…Happy Mother’s Day weekend, I hope your loved ones are making life a party for you, at least this weekend!

I’m sharing this post at Whipperberry, Tatertots and Jello, and Shanty 2 Chic, Under the Table and Dreaming.
