Aren’t these Mini Peach Cobbler in a Mason Jar treats the cutest ever? I recently discovered peach cobbler, and since it’s peach season, this easy peach cobbler recipe was perfect.

Individual Serving Size

I made my individual mini peach cobblers in a mason jar, but you could also use a ramekin to bake them in.  The individual mini cobbler is the perfect serving size for one, and the best part is that you don’t have to worry about dishing it up.  Serve this easy individual peach cobbler recipe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, or some whipped cream as a great way to finish a meal.  Mini cobblers in a masons jars are really easy to transport and bring to an event too.  Just screw on the tops of the jars to cover them.  You can also use individual ramekins for making individual servings.  Another option is to bake your mini cobblers in a muffin pan.  Just use a regular size muffin tin for baking your individual serving size cobbler.

This homemade mini peach cobbler recipe is the perfect dessert for anyone who loves a fruit dessert but doesn’t love making pie pastry.  It’s so much easy than baking a peach pie, because you don’t have to roll out the pie crust, you just add the cobbler topping to the top.  Homemade peach cobbler is made with simple ingredients, that you probably have on hand anyway.  You can make cobbler with lots of different fruit or combinations of fruit.  Fruit cobbler is a great way to use up extra fruit in the fruit basket when it’s in season. See our strawberry cobbler recipe here.  Try making berry cobbler, or apple cobbler,  or your favorite fruit,  But peach cobbler is a classic for a reason, and I think it just might be one of my favorite desserts.  Anyone who has a sweet tooth and loves peaches will love this easy summer dessert.

Peaches

We used fresh in season peaches for this easy recipe.  We used fresh fruit for our cobbler, but you can also make it with frozen fruit.  If you’re using very sweet peaches you can use a little bit less sugar.  If your peaches are out of season, you may need to add a little more sugar for your peach filling

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

        1. Preheat oven to 350°.
        2. Peel and slice your peaches into a large mixing bowl and sprinkle 1/2 cup of sugar over peach slices and divide them between 6 -4oz. mason jars. Filling each jar about half way. Or instead of mini mason jars use small ramekins to make individual serving size.
        3. Cream room temperature butter and 1 cup of sugar together. Stir in the dry ingredients of flour, baking powder and salt. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well.
        4. Spoon crumble topping over peach mixture in each mason jar. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

To make one large peach cobbler use a 2 quart baking dish, and bake for 35-45 minutes.

I made my mini peach cobblers in small 4oz mason jars. The jars are filled them about half way with peaches, and then added the cobbler dough on top.  These are perfect for easy transportation with the lid screwed on.  And also make it very easy for serving.

Serving Suggestion

When the mini peach cobblers are golden brown on top they’re ready.  You can have this room temperature or as warm peach cobbler, whichever you prefer.  Serve individual peach cobbler with whipped cream, or a scoop of  ice cream on top.  The peach flavors are perfect combined with whipped cream or scoops of vanilla ice cream.  This sure to become a favorite recipe for baking juicy peaches when they’re in season.

Today I was making this fresh peach cobbler for a sweet family going through a sad time so I added a little twine for decoration, and slipped the lids on for transport, along with a little bowl of freshly whipped cream.

  3. Hi Sara, I found these years ago, in the US on a little cross boarder shopping trip, at a hardware store. It’s little harder to find the diamond pattern in Canada. I did see them at Creative Bag recently though…and maybe Michaels. Best of luck.
