Silver Thanksgiving Table Decor

Silver Thanksgiving Table Decor: silver mercery glass and candle holders, DIY silver pumpkins, and white pumpkins create a beautiful table.
Silver Thanksgiving Table Decor

This year I decided to do some silver Thanksgiving table  decor -something a little different.  And I just love how it turned out.  It’s sophisticated and sparkly and festive.

The Centrepiece

I was inspired first by these cute little silver turkey candle holders. These were bought several years ago on sale after Thanksgiving at HomeSense -gotta love a clearance sale. 😉  A great alternative would be to find any cute turkey decor for Thanksgiving and give it a makeover with some silver spray paint.

Next I used some beautiful white pumpkins on the table and I thought some silver pumpkins would be a fun addition too.

DIY mercury glass pumpkins

These pretty mercury glass inspired pumpkins are a DIY.   See how easy they were to make here.  They were the perfect addition to our silver Thanksgiving table decor.

I used lots of silver and mercury glass candle holders and white candles. I also used this pretty silver cake stand at one end, and a white glass pedestal for one little pumpkin at the other end.

The Place Settings

Next I got out my “good dishes”, which I so rarely use for big family dinners since they can’t go in the dishwasher. They were layered on a simple silver charger.

I made these sweet “give thanks” plates to layer on top -see the tutorial on how to make give thanks plates them here.

Each place had a special treat, a homemade pumpkin chocolate truffle, see how I made them and get the recipe here. I put them in my favourite little individual domed holders.

Finally I found these pretty free Thanksgiving printables at Catch My Party and printed and cut them out. Each domed holder got a little ribbon tied around it and the Thanksgiving printable with double sided tape.

Thanksgiving table ideas

The table was really quite simple, and easy to do ahead, since there were no fresh flowers on the table. I often use the silver glasses, chargers and candle holders at Christmas.  It was fun to try something new with a silver theme for Thanksgiving.

I really liked all the sparkle, balanced with the simplicity of all the white and rustic presence of the pumpkins.

  2. I am visiting from BNOTP. I love your silver tablescape, it is just gorgeous! Thanks for the info on the Thanksgiving printables! Hugs, Penny

  3. What a wonderful and unique take on a Thanksgiving tablescape- I really think it’s amazing.

It’s so nice as an alternative to what we mostly see in the warm harvest colours – really makes the table feel extra special and dress!

    Well done!

  4. Your tablescape is beautiful, very autumnal even without the typical Fall shades… nice.
    Ciao for now…

  5. Very beautiful! My “company” tables always used to be white and silver when I was first starting out (nearly 50 years ago) because that’s what I had: formal white damask linens, platinum banded china and crystal, and silver serving pieces and candleholders. It is nice to see an updated “designed” version of what was standard fare.

  6. This is a stunning Thanksgiving table in silver!! Very different then the usual fall colors in earth tones. I totally adore the turkey candle holder in glass, along with the dishes, tablecloth all those candle sticks gathered together as a centerpiec! Cute white pumpkins next to the silver. Wonderful! I’m at TT and have a great day.

  8. I’m always glad to see people kind of mix it up in the fall and stray from the traditional colors. This is a very pretty table with all the gleaming silver and the creamy white, and the floral arrangement your sister brought is just wonderful! I love the way the little “hat” of the pumpkin is cocked to the side. Fun!

  9. Also love the cupcake holders but can’t find them on the Creative Bag link you provided :(.
    Such a beautiful display!

  10. Love this! Did you use a white tablecloth? I’ve been thinking of one maybe in platinum but it might be silver overload.

  11. Hi Gail,
Yes I did use white, but silver could be pretty too, or maybe something with a silver pattern? Happy Thanksgiving!
