DIY Custom Necklace

You know how I feel about themes and parties…can’t have one without the other. πŸ˜‰ I’m planning a little Paris themed get together, and thought an Eiffel Tower necklace would be cute. I had a look on etsy.com and found a few nice ones, but not one that was the perfect size, with just the right little charms and beads attached. And you know how it works around here, if we can’t find it, we attempt to make it.

I stopped by Michaels -in the jewelry making section, and found the perfect thing to make my own version. This little frame was around 5 or 6 dollars, and it has a hinge, so you can open it and put any image in it. You might not be in the market for an Eiffel Tower necklace, but what I love so much about this diy is that you could replace the picture for anything you liked, even a photo of your kids, or how about a cupcake? Adjustable for any occasion.

After I found this perfect little frame charm, I wanted to add some beads. I stopped by my local bead store and and found a few cute beads, and this key charm, and with a few twists of wire and a jump ring or two, we had them attached to the little frame.

At home a found an image of the Eiffel Tower on-line and printed it out. So simple, and so cute, and under $10 to make.
