Mother’s Day

I had the loveliest Mother’s Day. It started by waking up to the smell of baking. Always a good sign. Then my daughter Paige came upstairs with my breakfast. She just learned how to make scrambled eggs, and was pretty excited to have made these by herself (under the watchful eye of Daddy).

My girls showered me with sweet, thoughtful gifts they’d made at school, and I shed a tear over the loving words of their cards.

After church, my girls had planned a tea party lunch for us, and my Mom. They literally planned for weeks what the colour scheme would be (pink and green), what decorations to use, and what the menu would be. Paige even made a little banner with pretty pictures she collected from some flyers.

I see myself in my little girls, and their sweet desire to create a beautiful party, down to the tiniest details, in order to bless the recipients, in this case me, and I couldn’t have felt more blessed, and loved.

My sweet husband got up early and made fresh baked scones early in the morning and then helped the girls after church to make some BLT’s and cucumber sandwiches for lunch. We also enjoyed a lovely fruit tray, and some yummy cupcakes they picked up, Mommy’s fav. 😉

And for a gift my husband told me to go ahead and order a ticket to BlogPodium, a blogging conference in the fall. We had a lovely time, my family certainly knows how to bless me! Best Mother’s Day yet.

Life is what we make it, what a treat when those around you go to the trouble to make life into a party for you!
