A Winter White Snowy Mantel

Christmas is over, but there is still lots and lots of snow. So I’m being inspired by all the white outside and embracing the snow this January. I threaded the cotton ball snow onto thread and hung it up as snow as part of my Christmas decorations. I decided to leave it up for January and I have to say I kind of love it. The cotton ball snow inspired the rest of the mantel.

I wanted to write the word “snow”, so I found these in the dollar bins at Michaels for $1.50 each. They were neon coloured, so I just gave them a couple of coats of white craft paint, and then covered them in white glitter.

I love the subtle sparkle. Reminds me of real snow.

I kept the rest of the mantel really simple. I had a pretty white orchid in bloom, so I added it.

I also added some faux snow to some vases and added some creamy white candles. Fire and Ice.

I always love the cleanness, and simplicity of white after all the elaborateness of Christmas.

This mantel is simple, but I think really pretty. Instead of fighting the winter this year, I’m trying to embrace it’s beauty. With a simple snowy mantel, life really is a party!
