I’m having a lovely, lovely summer, and right now enjoying a few days visiting my sister in Cottage Country. What a lovely setting to work in. Tonight as we watch Mary Poppins with the kids, I’m editing these pretty pictures from my flower vase wreath.
I needed a late summer spruce-up for my front door, and this is what I came up with. It’s fun and easy, and something a bit different. I started out with some pretty glass juice bottles, and taped off the tops with some painters tape. Then I spray painted the bottoms white, so they’d contrast with my simple grapevine wreath.
When they were dry, I wrapped them with some twine, and attached them to the wreath, alone with a simple white ribbon and twine bow.
I’ve changed the flowers a few times, but I think the pretty white hydrangeas have been my favourite.
While I was spray painting, I also made a pretty, new striped doormat for the front door. I taped off random widths to create the stripes and spray painted it white.
I love how it turned out -simple and modern looking.
I added a few other fun touches to the doorway, like new white pots and containers filled with succulents and I’ll be sharing all the details of them soon.
With a fun, and simple new summer flower vase wreath, life really is a party!
