We’re having a lovely summer. We’ve been to the zoo, and the beach, and VBS. We’re staying up late, and sleeping-in. We’re swimming and going for long walks, and watching too much tv. We’re doing all that you should do in summer and loving it. Tuesday posts are turning into Wed. afternoon posts, and it’s probably a good thing. I hope you’re soaking up some sunshine too.
My sweet sister gave my this vintage window frame for Christmas, and ever since I thought it would look so pretty with some little bottles of flowers hanging from it. Summer was the perfect time to try it, all the little blooms are from my garden, and it inspired a new Simple Summer Mantel.
I used some simple glass juice bottles and a little twine to make my vases, and added some white and pink and purple blooms I snipped from the garden.
Of course I had to include a mason jar of beautiful hydrangeas from the garden too, since they’re so beautiful right now.
I finished up the mantel with a few old books, my vintage scale, some garden balls and my cute collection of mini oil cans on my antique spool stand with the glass cloche.
With a simple and pretty summer mantel, life really is a party! Happy Summer friends.
