Blackberry Sparklers: fresh blackberries are pureed for this drink, make it with alcoholic, or without for a non alcoholic version -perfect for ringing in the New Year.
We’re deep in the throes of Christmas right now, but before we know it Christmas will be done. Then it will be time to think about New Years.
Today I’m joining in the Seasonal Simplicity Series, hosted by Krista from Happy Housie. Be sure to check out all the great New Years ideas at the bottom of this post.
It’s so fun to celebrate the new year in, and what’s more celebratory than a sparkly drink? Even if your idea of celebrating is staying home in your pjs with takeout and Netflix, you’ll love this drink. 😉 Whether in or out, alcohol or no alcohol this Blackberry Sparkler is the drink for you.
The Blackberry Sparkler is made with fresh blackberries, and you can make one batch of the blackberry puree and then make both an alcoholic or a non-alcoholic version, depending you or your guests preferences.
My kids loved the non-alcoholic version, and I’m pretty sure they’ll be asking for it for the next few weeks.
- 1 pint blackberries (about 350 grams)
- 1 1/2 tbsp quick dissolve sugar
- gingerale or sparkling wine
Rinse blackberries and place in a food processor. Process until completely pureed. Add sugar and combine.
Pour purée through a fine wire sieve to remove the seeds.
To make the drink, place 1 - 1 1/2 tbsp of the blackberry puree in the bottom of a chamapgne flute and top with gingerale for a non-alcoholic version or sparking wine for a alcoholic version. Garnish with a fresh blackberry.
Since blackberries are beautiful and readily available this time of year, this is the perfect drink for celebrating with!
With Blackberries Sparklers to ring in the New Year, life really is a party!
