Laundry Room / Mudroom Makeover Week Five: This week we make great progress. We also made 3 fun free laundry room art printables.
It’s already week five of the One Room Challenge and there’s only one week to go on our six week challenge to make over this room. The One Room Challenge is a challenge where bloggers makeover a room in six weeks and share their weekly progress on their blogs and at the One Room Challenge website. Be sure to check out everyone else’s progress too.
If you missed any of our progress you can catch-up here:
It’s been a busy week here and I’m excited that my brother-in-law Shaun from Benjamin Woodworks came and finished building the built-in lockers, the cabinets, and the cement bench. The cabinets were stock cabinets from the home improvement store, but Shaun added gables and valances to make them look built-in. He also made a mudroom locker system out of MDF, and shiplap, with a cement bench seat. I’m so glad it’s done, and even more glad about how amazing it looks.
The next job on the agenda was for me to get painting. I used Para Ultra Cabinet and Furniture Paint, Melamine Finish, WH04 Metropolitan. I matched it to the cabinets, and it looks great. I can’t wait to show you.
If you’re following along on Instagram Stories you’ll have seen some sneak peeks of my progress. I don’t want to give it all away, so you’ll have to wait until next week’s big reveal to see it all painted.
This week I also worked on a few finishing touches for the room. I created a few fun free printable laundry room art pieces.
And this one because -ironing.
And last but not least, my favourite:
These printables are a little off centre to accommodate the vintage hanger. I found some of them at the thrift store and since it seems like I can’t redo a room without adding at least a little vintage, the vintage hanger was perfect.
I printed the art on some card stock and hung it with the vintage clothes hanger. I may add the others to the room too, or swap them out from time to time.
The To-Do List
I am almost at the finish line. Still left to do is:
- seal the cement bench
- install the hooks
- clean the grout lines
- add in some art and accessories
- hang the new light
With a beautiful new Laundry Room / Mudroom that’s almost done, life really is a party!
I’m so excited to be working with some great sponsors for this One Room Challenge. As always, all opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting the brands that make Life is a Party possible.
