Core an apple with a sharp knife, removing all the core.
Tear a square of aluminum foil, and spread with about a 1 teaspoon of butter.
Place apple in the middle of the buttered aluminum foil.
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Place about ½ teaspoon butter in the center of each cored apple, and then add the cinnamon sugar mixture on top. Top with ½ teaspoon more butter.
Wrap the apple up tightly making a foil packets.
Roast in the hot coals of a campfire for about 10 - 15 min, until the apple is baked, soft and tender. Try to avoid the open flame of the fire. Or, roast in a bbq or oven at 350 for about 20 min. Take care when opening the campfire apple packets, as it will be very hot, and juicy. Enjoy!
