Hi, I'm Dannyelle
-creative celebrator, party stylist, cook, teacher, and memory-maker.
and it's my HONOUR to help you make life a party!

Life is what we make it, so we may as well make it a party!
I love helping families make memories through celebrating in big and small ways.
At Life is a Party I'm sharing all my tips and tricks. There are lots of easy recipes, party and entertaining inspiration, home decor, and ideas for celebrating all the holidays and seasons.
As someone who has thrown hundreds of parties over the years, I love helping busy women create joyful celebrations, whether big or small.

What You'll Find on Life is a Party
- Easy, beautiful recipes for every occasion
- Party ideas and tablescapes that make gatherings memorable
- Seasonal celebrations for holidays and everyday moments
- Simple home décor, and crafts that create joy and connection
But Life is a Party isn't just about recipes and décor, it's about the meaning behind them.
My Celebrating Philosophy
At Life is a Party, it's not about being perfect. It's about making people feel seen and loved.
For me, it's never just about the food, the flowers, or the décor, it's about the feeling they create. A beautifully set table, a favorite recipe, or a seasonal touch can turn ordinary moments into memories that last.
My hope is that when you visit Life is a Party, you feel inspired to make your own joyful gatherings that are beautiful, and meaningful, not perfect, just full of heart.
Favorite Parties
Favorite Recipes
Great food is such a big part of wonderful celebrations, or just making everyday special and delicious. I love to cook and serve my friends and family delicious food. These are some of my favortie sweet go-to recipes on the blog.
From the Classroom to the Party Table
Before I started Life is a Party, I was a classroom teacher, with a B.Ed from York University. I still bring that same passion for learning, creativity, and step-by-step guidance into everything I share here.
I know how to break things down so they're easy to follow. Whether it's planning a themed dinner party, baking a show-stopping dessert, or styling a tablescape, I'll guide you with the same clarity, encouragement, and structure I used to teach kids.
A Little About My Background
I also hold a Master of Divinity, from the University of Toronto, and worked as a trained celebrant, designing and leading meaningful life ceremonies. That experience taught me how to create moments that connect people through symbolism, story, and atmosphere.
Now I blend all of that -teacher, celebrant, creator to help you make gatherings that are both deeply special and beautifully styled.
Home Is Where The Party Starts

I'm a wife and a mom to two girls, who've grown into young women, and we live just outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Much of the inspiration for this blog has come from creating special memories with my own family like birthday parties, Christmas celebrations, movie nights, and celebrations that feel just a little bit extra.
I launched Life is a Party way back in 2010 after realizing how much joy I found in helping others create gatherings filled with warmth and intention.
Those real-life moments have shaped everything I share here on Life is a Party. If you're looking to create joy and connection for your own family, I've been there and I'm here to help you make it beautiful, meaningful, and totally doable.
Fun Facts
- 🧁Favorite Sweet: I am a vanilla girl! Give me vanilla over chocolate any day of the week. And a good scone (my easy food processor scone recipe here) with cream and jam is my idea of a great treat -with tea of course.
- 🥩Favorite Savoury: I am a meat and potatoes fan. Give me a medium rare steak and I will love you. But then again, pizza!
- 📺Favourite Way To Relax: I love a good binge watch -funny thing I have a degree in English, but I usually prefer to see the movie than read the book. I also love a walk in the forest that's near by, and getting creative in the kitchen, or crafting. You'll also find me gardening in the spring and summer.
- 🍽Something Quirky: I own 5 full sets of 12 cutlery sets -I know it's a lot! But beautiful cutlery is like the jewlery of a tablescape. And don't get me started on how many dishes, glasses, napkins. Your girl likes to set a pretty table. 😉
- 📍Location: We live just outside of Toronto, Canada. We're very fortunate to back onto a forest and enjoy all four seasons here. But we're just a 30 min. train ride from being in downtown Toronto too, the best of both worlds.
- 🪹Empty Nest: We're just a the beginning of being empty nesters. Our girls are away studying in University, but back home for summers.
