I want to wish you a Happy New Year.  It’s almost hard to believe that we’re about to be celebrating New Years.  New Years can kind of get a little bit lost in the big lead up to Christmas, so I’m excited to be joining in with 10 other blogging friends to share some ideas with you today.  Be sure to check out all the great ideas and links at the bottom of this post.

These days New Year’s Eve is the big celebration.  When I was a kid though, we didn’t really celebrate New Year’s Eve at all, we had a big dinner with extended family on New Year’s Day.  Celebrations sometimes change a little over time.  Today I hardly get any Christmas cards anymore.  I’m sure I’ve never received a Happy New Years card.  I guess that about 100 years ago, it was common to send a New Year’s greeting postcard like these ones.  These are all post marked after Christmas, 1911-1917.

I was lucky to find them at my local antique market this past week, and thought they’d be really fun to share for this New Years blog hop.  I made mine into a really simple banner to display them.

Use mini clothes pins to attach them to some pretty ribbon, I used some gold twine.
