It’s just over a week away until Canadian Thanksgiving, and that calls for an Easy Fall Thanksgiving Dessert Table.
This table came together pretty easily, and I thought it might inspire some of you who are on desserts for Thanksgiving.
It’s full of easy homemade, semi-homemade, and delicious store bought desserts, so you can bake a little, put a few things together, and defrost a little. 😉
The first job was to set the scene. I made this pretty fall leaf backdrop with real leaves and a little washi tape. See the full tutorial on How To Make a Fall Leaf Backdrop by clicking here.
This time of year, when things seem so busy with school and activities all starting up again I especially love the convenience of one stop shopping. I went to my local Loblaws to pick up food, decor, and serving pieces for this fun dessert table.
The pretty metallic pumpkins are from Loblaws home section, and I mixed them in with some real ones. I’m loving the mix of gold and copper this fall; the fun pumpkin tassels tie in the metallic even more. I made them with some wooden beads and yarn, and the metallic beads were just spray painted in rose gold.
Individual Portions of Dessert
I love offering individual portions on a dessert table. It means that for me as the host once the food is out that I can relax and guests can help themselves. It’s also great for offering lots of little portions of different things. Guests love to have the option to try lots of small desserts -a little bit of everything! I’ve also found the small individual portions are great for kids and help reduce waste.
I also picked up these cute little square bowls, that came with a matching white ceramic spoon and served some chocolate pudding in them. It’s great to think about different flavours when putting a dessert table together. You want something for everyone. I was going for a fall feeling, but even in fall chocolate lovers are chocolate lovers and at least one chocolate dessert is probably a must at any dessert table, regardless of the season.
This chocolate pudding is one of the semi-homemade desserts. It’s just some instant pudding but we dressed it up with some whipped cream and chopped Reese’s pieces for a little crunch. You could also use nuts, or for a nut-free option seasonal chocolate M & Ms would be great too.
I wanted to include a few pumpkin dishes since we’re celebrating fall. So I also made some Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispies -I’ll be sharing the recipe next week here on the blog.
These have all the ooey-gooey goodness of Rice Krispie Squares, but with the flavour of pumpkin and pumpkin spice! I added a drizzle of white belgium chocolate to the top and some sweet pumpkin sprinkles to make them extra special.
When you think of fall here in Ontario you can’t help but think about the fall leaves turning colour and nothing puts on a better fall show than the maple trees! So, a maple dessert seemed like the perfect addition to the dessert table for fall.
I picked some PC Maple Fudge because President’s Choice products are always so good. I also love the idea of mixing in some homemade with some store bought to make life a little bit easier for all of us.
The fudge and pumpkin spice rice krispies are served on a beautiful wood and marble cutting board also from President’s Choice at Loblaws. I love how versatile it is. Use it for a cheese and charcuterie, use it as a cutting board for your bread, or use it as a platter to serve your desserts on.
I also picked up the PC Pumpkin Cheesecake. The cake is sliced into little wedges and I added a some whip cream to the top. I served them on these cute little individual square plates, also from Loblaws.
The last item on the dessert table were some homemade apple crisps. Every fall dessert table needs something apple flavoured and these apple crisps were perfect. These apple crisps are so easy to make -you can find my recipe here. But, if you’re not in the baking mood, PC also does a frozen one that you could just spoon into the cute serving dishes after it’s baked.
I love these little matte black individual baking dishes, with their cute little lids, also from Presidents Choice. They’re perfect for giving everyone their own, and the lids help to keep what ever your cooking nice and warm until serving time.
I hope you’re feeling inspired for your own Thanksgiving Dessert Table. Your guests will love the individual desserts, and you’ll love the ease of some homemade, some semi-homemade, and some store bought!
With an Easy Fall Thanksgiving Dessert Table life this one, life really is a party!
This post is not sponsored, I just really love President’s Choice and all their great products!
