Valentine's day is getting closer, and with two pink loving little girls in the house, it's time to start celebrating. What better way to celebrate than with easy heart shaped cinnamon rolls and pink hot chocolate? The perfect Valentine's Day snack.
Today was a wonderful, lazy, don't need to be anywhere Saturday at our house. We did crafts, watched Valentine's Day cartoons, and played all day. I had an idea for a really sweet snack.
Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls Ingredients:
- store bought refrigerated cinnamon rolls
- heart sprinkles
How To Make Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls
I started out with Pillsbury ready to bake Cinnamon Rolls with icing.
I tried to half un-roll them.
Then I re-rolled them, and pinched the bottom to form a heart shape.
Then I baked them in rows on a small baking tray, according to the package instructions.
With a little icing and heart shaped sprinkles, I think they turned out pretty well, and the kids loved our "love buns".
Pink Hot Chocolate
I thought it would be fun to have them with some pink hot chocolate. I had some white hot chocolate mix, that I bought very inexpensively from the bulk barn. If you couldn't find white hot chocolate mix, you could heat some milk and add some melted white chocolate to make the white hot chocolate.
I added a couple of drops of red food colouring, and voila, PINK HOT CHOCOLATE! And it seemed like the right occasion to pull out my little heart shaped tea cups.
Easy Heart Shaped Marshmallows
One final little sweet detail...heart shaped marshmallows. I cut a regular marshmallow in half, and then used a mini cookie cutter to cut out the heart shape.
We all enjoyed our Valentine's day heart shaped cinnamon rolls and pink hot chocolate with heart shaped marshmallows.
