Turkey Sandwich Recipe Variations:
I’m a huge fan of a classic turkey sandwich, like the recipe I’ve just shared. But if you’re looking for something a little more than a simple turkey sandwich, here are some suggestions.
Turkey Club Sandwich
I love a good club, and these can be made with chicken or turkey, and your leftover ham, or some pork bacon. It’s the perfect way to elevate a leftover turkey sandwich. Use white bread or whole wheat bread, and layer in some tomato slices, and lettuce or fresh spinach leaves for a twist. Get the full recipe for the ultimate club sandwich here.
Grilled Cheese Turkey Sandwich Recipe
Do you love hot sandwiches? Try a turkey grilled cheese with your favourite cheese, like provolone cheese, or swiss. Take it to next level with the addition of crispy bacon, or turkey bacon and it will love at first bite. Make it the traditional way in a frying pan, or try it in a panini press brushed in olive oil. Cook it until it’s golden brown. For an easy meal serve it with chips or a salad.
Or for another variation try a turkey melt, as an open face sandwich. Layer your turkey breast onto the bread on a baking sheets, and then top with your favourite cheese. You might also like a condiment like the cranberry mayo we shared above, regular mayo, or mustard as the first layer on the bread. Keep the cheese on top so that the cheese melts nicely and keeps your turkey from drying out. Try monterey jack for a little spice, or smoked turkey from the deli counter for another variation.
