blue cotton candy drink

We made these drinks for our Cinderella Dinner and A Movie Night -see all the details here.  It was the perfect shade of Cinderella pale blue for our party.  We called them Cinderella sippers as a sweet treat to enjoy for our movie night.  They're great for any special occasions.  These cotton candy mocktails are great for kids or anyone who wants a non-alcoholic drink option.  Enjoy them at a bridal shower, birthday party, new year's eve, Mother's day, or the holiday season.

You could also use pink cotton candy for these and make them a beautiful shade of pink instead of blue.  Or get really crazy and combine both for a purple.

Wouldn't these be fun drinks in the pink and blue colors for baby showers, or a gender reveal?  The colors are perfect for spring celebrations or a summer day.

Watch The Magic

The magical part of this drink is that you put the cotton candy into a clear glass first, and then pour the sprite over the top.  The fun part is that the cotton candy instantly dissolves and the drink turns blue or pink!  It's so perfect for special events, because it feels magical.  Top the festive drinks with extra cotton candy and you can even add a sprinkle of pink luster dust, or edible glitter on top, or add blue or pink sanding sugar sugar to the rim of the glass for the perfect drink for celebrating.  You'll love the sweet flavor of this alcohol-free version.

Tips

A few tips about working with fluffy cotton candy.  As soon as the cotton candy gets exposed to moisture, even the moisture in the air, it begins to dissolve.  So for best results, don't prepare these in advance because your cotton candy melts with the moisture in the air.  Do them last minute, right in front of your guests.  Keep that cotton candy in an airtight sealed container right up until you're ready to use it so the cotton candy dissolve doesn't ruin the appearance.

You could also add ice to this drink, to make it on the rocks.

We've tried this drink with ginger ale, and although it takes great, it didn't give the best color.  Sprite is the perfect pop to use for the cotton candy drink because it's clear, and will give you the best blue colour when the cotton candy dissolves.  Another great option would be a clear colored cream soda, or vanilla soda.  If you want a really bright pink color you could also try a raspberry ginger ale.

Adult Cotton Candy Drink Idea

Kids love this drink.  It's sweet and fizzy and a lot of fun and perfect for your next party.  Want a grown up friendly version?  Try adding vodka for a cotton candy cocktail.  Too sweet for you?  Swap out the pop for sparkling water for the fun cocktail version.  This adult drink version is perfect for bachelorette parties, or any special celebration.
