Swamp Water Punch: made with limeade, ginger ale, pineapple juice, and lime ice cream or sherbet it makes a creamy fizzy swampy punch.
When we decided on The Princess and the Frog movie for our first Disney Princess dinner and movie night, we knew swamp water punch would be the perfect addition. Much of the Princess and the Frog takes places in the swamp lands of Louisiana. The scenery is beautiful with fireflies, water lilies, mossy trees, and cat tails… along with green swampy water. This was the inspiration for our drinks.
We wanted our punch to be green and foamy so we added ice cream and pop for that fizzy, creamy swamp effect. It’s also so yummy. I had trouble finding lime sherbet where I live, but I did find lime ice cream at Baskin Robbins, which worked great and was delicious. If you can find lime sherbet, it would work great too.
I wanted the drink to be green so I used limeade as a base. The pineapple juice adds sweetness, but it does yellow the drink, so I only added a little. You could also add a little green food colouring, to make it more green as well.
We made our punch in individual glasses for our party, which worked great, and helped them stay fizzy. You could also make a large punch bowl of the swamp water punch instead, and guests could help themselves.
- 1 cup limeade
- 1/2 cup gingerale
- 1/4 pineapple juice
- 1 large scoop of lime ice cream or lime sherbet
- In a glass combine the limeade, gingerale, and pineapple juice. Top with a scopp of lime ice cream, or sherbet. Enjoy!
