Today I’m sharing my very favourite pancakes with you. I grew up on Aunt Jemima and thought that was what pancakes tasted like. When I got married my husband started making us pancakes from scratch -what a difference, and the real maple syrup didn’t hurt either. They are so light, and fluffy, and yummy. If you’ve never tried them before consider it Christmas holiday homework. 😉
Pancake Dry Ingredients:
To make these into an in-a-jar recipe, combine these dry ingredients and whisk together:
-
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-
3 tablespoons sugar
-
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
I used a cute canister from the dollar store to put the homemade pancake mix into.

Then I made this cute printable that gives the recipient the list of wet ingredients to add.
You can download it and print it here.
I printed it on card stock, cut it out, and added a little glitter -cause everything is better with glitter. Then just punch a hole in the top, and tie it onto the canister with a little Christmas ribbon. I added a little pine and rosehips for fun.
Syrup Ideas
Along with the pancake mix-in-a-jar, I thought it would be nice to include some syrup. I found this delicious looking raspberry syrup, but real maple syrup would be great too.
My syrup was around $5, the canister $1, and I had the other ingredients, making this a great under $10 Christmas gift! I think this would be really fun to bring as a hostess gift for a dinner party, and mention something like “you made us this beautiful dinner so here’s something to help with breakfast tomorrow”.
With pancake mix in jar, life really is a party!
